(i) the amount of provision granted for the development activities and the year in which it was granted;
(ii) whether the specified tender procedure has been followed in developing the playground;
(iii) if not, the reasons for it;
(iv) who the contractors of the project are; and
(v) whether the total amount of money approved for the project has been utilized for the aforesaid project; and
(c) Will he also state—
(i) whether the recommendation of the Minister representing the area is required for obtaining approval from the Beruwala Pradeshiya Sabha to book the playground for a festival/ sports event/ social event;
(ii) if so, the reason for it;
(iii) whether engaging in sports in this playground has been banned for sports clubs in the area; and
(iv) if so, the reasons underlying it?

(i) separately, in respect of each Grama Niladhari division , of the number of small tanks and weirs which are fed only by rain water presently, and which are situated in low elevation of the main canal in the downstream of 20 Kilometers through Dambulla and Galewela Divisional Secretariat Divisions and coming under the Wayamba Canal project operated by the Department of Irrigation under the “Mahaweli Suraksithatha” investment programme;
(ii) whether Wayamba canal feeds all aforesaid tanks and weirs systems;
(iii) whether plans have been made in that regard by now ;
(iv) separately, of the names of the tanks that are fed and not fed by Wayamba Canal project;
(v) whether it doesn’t cause an injustice on the farming communities of Dambulla and Galewela when water is provided to North Western province without feeding the tanks and weirs that are located in low elevations of the main canal ;
(vi) as a remedial action whether plans will be prepared and implemented in order to supply water to the tanks that are not fed; and
(vii) if so, of aforesaid date?

(i) students from various districts enter the schools in districts that have low cut-off marks, but they study in educational institutions with better facilities and finally enter the university following the G.C.E (Advanced Level) examination through the quota system functional for each district where the school is based;
(ii) due to the issue mentioned in (i) above, students those living in the districts with lower cut-off marks and study in the same district are deprived of the opportunity to gain university entrance through the quota; and
(iii) after enrolling students on the basis of grading by district level for the university entrance, a change has taken place in that order ?
(b) If so, will he inform this House, whether measures will be taken to prevent students coming from other districts enter schools in districts with low cut-off marks and against the schools that admit students in such a manner, after considering the plight of the students who study in the same districts, with low cut-off marks, where they are registered?

(i) the 190 perches land (Deed No. 16) located at No. 11, Station Road, Mannar has been registered (Reg. No. B 1/53) as a land owned by the Methodist Council on 17.12.1872 by the Land Office of Mannar;
(ii) the Sri Lanka Army established an office in the respective land when it was unable to maintain it following the tense situation that prevailed in the country in 1985; and
(iii) even after more than 3 years have passed after allocating a separate land near the Mannar town for the purpose, the Army is yet to release the land belonging to the Methodist Council?
(b) Will he inform this House whether measures will be taken soon to release the relevant land which is urgently required by the Methodist Council?
